DUET - Tim Shiel & QSO

As part of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra's Current Festival, RANRUN worked closely with the orchestra and producer Tim Shiel to bring his soundtrack to the smash-hit video game "DUET" to the concert stage. Video director and technologist Jaymis Loveday then reworked visual elements of the video game which were then projected into the space transforming a mobile gaming experience into a completely immersive one.  In collaboration with Tim, RANRUN created new arrangements for orchestra that were then fed through a tempo-synced Ableton Live session, allowing the orchestra to be electronically manipulated in real time. To avoid the need for 45 minutes (1200-plus bars) long click track, RANRUN worked with Jaymis to produce a "visual click track" played on screens facing the musicians.
